He drapes an arm possessively around her slim shoulders, pulling her in close to himself. A deep sigh escapes her, as she gazes at the stars in blissful joy. The boy storms around the small room, stopping every once in a while to glare heatedly at the locked door. Sunlight filters in through the small barred window, glancing off and illuminating the child’s golden hair, casting its light on the tangled, silken sheet. Chapter 2: Complications

The dawn broke over a crisp layer of freshly fallen snow, soft red light casting a crimson glow that contrasted with the blinding white of the land. The wind bit as sharply and as bitterly as before, slicing through flesh and cloth alike, causing any one foolish, or headstrong, enough to be caught outside a substantial amount of numbness.
