Naps snatched in four minute bursts dotted with work crammed into twenty.

The words ring in his mind over and over and over, each step that takes him a few feet closer (a few feet further) pounding each syllable deeper and deeper into the ground (into his soul). Harsh breaths that he can’t recognize as his own follow him, each swift exhale another incriminating word.
